Afghan Connection (AC) has been supporting education in Afghanistan since 2002. Back then just a million children were in school and only 5000 of them were girls. The country had been at war for 23 years and was in the grip of the cruel Taliban regime. Opportunity and progress had been stifled and the country and its infrastructure devastated.
Today over 8 million children are in school and AC is proud to have contributed to the progress which has been made. We have funded 41 school constructions and provided training for 600 teachers. In the last 4 years AC has also supported Community Based Education for children who cannot reach the nearest school, meaning that in areas where we work, almost every boy and girl now has access to education. Help us to continue with our work and to spread it to other areas of Afghanistan, so that every child can go to school.
